The SE38 Feder

Our entirely in-house crafted SE38 feder is the perfect sword for use in one or two hands. With a 38” blade and a 9” grip, this sword is ideal for the study of late 14th to late 15th century martial arts.

The SE38 Feder

Each SE38 feder blade is made from 6150 alloy steel. The SEF feder is 1.75” wide at the shoulders, with a 2” schilt, tapering to a 5/8'“ tip.

The cross guard of each SE38 feder is hand-forged from 5160 steel, and heat treated for strength and durability. Guard styles are taken from the Oakeshott Typeology, and include Straight (Style 1), Flared (Style 2), Curved (Style 7), Hooked (Style 8), or S Curved (Style 12). Guards can be finished in Bright Satin or Blackened.

The pommel of the SEF feder is important to give it the balance and feel it needs to be usable in either one or two hands. Options include Disc (Type G), Wheel (Type K), Faceted Scent Stopper (Type T), Round Scent Stopper (Type T2), or Fishtail (Type V1).

Grips are made of impact-resistant polycarbonate, covered with a layer of cotton cord, and finished with hand-dyed veg-tan leather. Leather colors available include black, brown, red, oxblood, blue, green, and black (other colors available on request). Grips can optionally feature a half wire wrap in blackened or polished steel, copper, brass, or a combination of materials.
